At some point in our lives we begin to look for something more to life than our day-to-day routines and the news of our world. our individual lives can become hum-drum, troubles pile up and life can seem unfulfilling, dull and absent of joy.
But if we look beyond the sights and sounds of our world, to the deeper things of life, those things that really count and have meaning; the “spiritual” part of life, or how we think about God, we soon find that life can have more meaning and be richer and fuller than we can imagine!
We are not much different than the people who lived on the earth long ago. They too had become “caught up” in the things that were going on in their world, in much the same way we are today; caught up in “things” that take us away from knowing the love, grace forgiveness and mercy of God.
It was out of love that God sent Jesus to become the Savior of the world; the Savior of all people. Jesus came to save us from our own self-serving purposes and to give us a chance to live a new way of life; a life of love, a life of faith, and a life that is richer and deeper in meaning than anything money can buy.
If you are looking, seeking, or searching for meaning in your life, for something that you can hold onto and count on, come and hear the message of Jesus from the Holy Scriptures, the Bible, each week at our Sunday services.
All you need to do is take a step into a new way of life. A life that changes the way you are; a life in which God’s promises to you and to all those who believe in Him are given freely; a life changed when it is filled with God’s love. This is not meant for a select few, but for all who believe. This new life is for you, for your family, and for all people.
Becoming a member of Saint James is a simple process that begins with meeting Reverend Reis to discuss your desire to join the congregation or to seek out questions about your faith journey.
We have frequently occurring sessions on the basics of the Christian faith and the Lutheran tradition which help to answer faith questions and also prepare you to become a member of the congregation.
Please contact the church office at (717) 854-7198 to arrange a time to meet with the Pastor.
